Wie heißen

Remember, the literal meaning of "Wie heißen Sie" is "What are you called, not "What is your name?

In German you will also use the pronoun "Sie" when

     a. referring to one adult female or
       b. referring to several adults (females or
          males), or children.

When talking about one child it doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl, you will use the pronoun, "es" as in "it" regardless.
