FORMAL GREETING FOR ANY TIME OF THE DAY:

"Guten Tag!"
"Good day!"

FORMAL EVENING GREETING:

"Guten Abend!"
"Good evening"

RELIGIOUS GREETING FOR ANY TIME OF THE DAY
(used in southern Germany):

"Grüß Gott!"
"Greed God!"

INFORMAL GREETING FOR ANY TIME OF THE DAY:

"Grüß dich!"
"Greed you!"

INFORMAL GREETING FOR ANY TIME OF THE DAY:

"Hallo!"
"Hello"

Note:

The "Guten Nachmittag" (Good afternoon) greeting rarely gets used in Germany. Instead, Germans use the formal greeting "Guten Tag" or the informal greeting "Hallo;" both can be used for any time of the day.

Note:
You may want to substitute "ue" for "ü," and "ss" for ß.
