Objective: To be able to speak, read and write the names of body parts and action verbs.
Material: Outline of a body, drawn on a large sheet of paper:
Vocabulary: Head, arms, hands, legs, feet, fingers, think, hug, carry, hold, grab, walk, run, stand.
Preparation: Have the names of the body parts and action verbs written on the board.
Model: Hand out chart paper to groups of four students and show them how to copy the body drawing.
Model: Hold up your arm while at the same time point to the word "arm" on the board with your other arm and saying the word "arm" aloud. Motion to students to repeat the word aloud after you.
Model: Write the word "arm" on the appropriate spot of the body drawing. Then ask students to copy the word onto their charts. Walk around the room and guide as necessary.
Repeat procedure for the rest of the body parts and ask students to copy the verbs onto their chart paper.
ACTION VERBS: Model: Jump up in the air and point at the verb "jump" on the board. Have student repeat the word aloud after you. Write the word in the appropriate spot of the drawing.
Repeat procedure for the rest of the body parts and ask students to copy the verbs onto their chart paper. Walk around the room and help out if necessary.
Have volunteers come up to act out verbs and ask other students to guess the word and say it out loud.

TO NONNATIVE STUDENTS
Guess How Much It Costs!
Objective: To be able to speak, read and write the prices of 7 items in dollars and cents.
Material: Colored paper and colored pencils.
Vocabulary: Have the question "How much does it cost?" written on the board.
Preparation: Have a watch drawn on piece of paper and a $ value written on the back of it.
Model: Tell students "I drew a picture of my watch last night" Do you know how much it costs?
Have several students guess before showing the price.
Ask students to draw a picture of something they may want to sell with the price shown on the back.
Walk around the room and help out if necessary.
Model: Ask a student to come to the front with you so you can model what students should do.
(Students show each other the picture while hiding the price and ask each other "How much does it cost?"
Point to the board and have students repeat the question after you before students start asking each other.
