Word order is not always necessary in the German language, because the article and verb endings signify who is the object and who is the subject.
For example:
We can say "Den Mann beisst der Hund or "Der Hund beisst den Man." (The dog bites the man.)
Because the article "der" was changed to "den" to let you know who is bitten, the word order is not necessary.
